Heavy Duty Current Shunt 100A 50mV
Placed in series with a high power circuit, these shunt bars allow you to measure high current draw without needing a high current ammeter. Heavy duty brass construction and hand calibrated, they include large terminals for connection of the main circuit cables and smaller terminals for connection to a meter. Suitable for use with a standard multimeter or panel meter you simply measure the millivolts across the shunt to display the current draw of the circuit. The 50mV models within the range are also compatible with many readily available power meters such as our MS6172 Digital DC Power Meter.
• Voltmeter is on millivolt scale
• Voltmeter connections to shunt are on each side of shunt
• If current is DC observe polarity. If AC amps connect either way
• Specs of shunt generally stamped on the shunt itself ie. 50mV/50A
(volt drop across shunt) equates to 5, 10, 20A max current, etc.i.e. A 25mV reading on the millivolt meter would equate to 25Acurrent on a 50mV/50A shunt. You can read the current straight off the millivolt scale on the meter.
